what's new in version 1.5?
iDC File Manager version 1.5 retains the core functionality and layout found in previous versions, but has been
completely rebuilt from the ground up with many new features and improvements based on your valuable feedback.
It also provides a much more flexible platform to enable easier future development and the potential for 3rd party integration,
which was lacking in version 1.4.
When developing version 1.5 we had a priority list of features and these have all been incorporated, however other features and
improvements will continue to be added in forthcoming point releases.

Below are described some of the key changes to iDC File Manager version 1.5. Essentially every function has been tweaked
or subtly improved in some way and therefore although we could list every minor change we feel the best way is for you to simply
see the new File Manager in action.

In Admin mode, the administrator will be able to access all user account folders and files.
In User mode, the user will only be able to access the folder they are allocated.
new features and improvements - an overview
To allow the File Manager to expand and to enable new features / improvements to be included it is now a fully MySQL driven application.
As a result of the decision to opt for a MySQL driven database over CSV, we can now include features such as Group access and Shared folders.
To aid setup and quickly deploy iDC File Manager on your server it now includes an external configuration file.
iDC File Manager will be mostly template driven although we do intent to ultimately make the whole system template based at some point in the future.
The Client Manger has been completely overhauled, again to coincide with the MySQL usage.
Both the File Manager, Client Manager and the Login page have a brand new "Transparent" GUI.
Login page now includes Forgotten password recovery function.
Automatic language detection instantly detects clients language and loads corresponding interface language files.
New Hotlink function with Social Network support and Hotlink identification key.
Built-in User Activity and Error Log viewer.
Group Support
Shared folder Support with individual folder rights.
Email notifications options for Group users.
Improved "User" control panel.
Individually assigned function rights e.g: Upload, Download, Zip, Move, Copy, Rename, Preview, Hotlink,
Chmod, Pack, Unpack, New Folder, Editor, Notes, Delete.
Account expiry date function
Once click account activation
Improved user contact details storage.
Visual user disk quotas.
Unlimited disk quota option.
Customizable templates for Client Manager and Login page.
Long file and folder name truncation.
Language specific email notifications.
File size identification (Kb or Mb).
