Update from Version 1.5.00 to Version 1.5.01The following instructions are designed to give you guide through the process of updating your copy of iDC File Manager to the latest version. Prior to starting the installation PLEASE ENSURE YOU TAKE A FULL BACKUP OF YOUR COPY OF IDC FILE MANAGER! This includes: /cgi-bin/FileManager /FileManager (including all subfolders and files) and the main File Manager MySQL database. If you are unsure how to backup any of these sections please contact your host or network administrator. Step 1 Access: http://my.filemanager.net/cgi-bin/FileManager/Manager.pl and using the username and password you received when you first ordered iDC File Manager, login and download the latest update from the folder named "Update to Version 1.5.01 (from version 1.5.00)". Step 2 When you have downloaded the zip file, unzip it on your desktop and then open the newly unzipped folder. You should then see two main directories:
Each respective folder contains a directory named "FileManager". One "FileManager" folder" containing the updated /Templates, /Languages files and updated /FileManagerData folder and the second "FileManager" folder containing the updated File Manager script files. Step 3 Access your server using an FTP client or locally (if you have local access) and navigate into the servers main /FileManager folder. This folder will either exist in a directory named either: public_html, httpdocs, httpsdocs, wwwroot, html or similar depending on your server setup. Once you have located the /FileManager folder, return to you desktop (or wherever the unzipped update folder is stored) and navigate into the "FileManager" subfolder folder in the main "Contents of this folder to be uploaded into httpdocs or public_html or wwwroot" directory. Then upload all files and folders located in this directory (not the folder itself) into the servers /FileManager folder, overwriting any existing files and folders which have the same name. PLEASE NOTE, WHEN YOU OVERWRITE THE CONTENTS OF THE /FILEMANAGER FOLDER ANY CHANGES YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY MADE TO THE TEMPLATES, LANGUAGE FILES OR OTHER IMAGE FILES ETC... (EXCLUDING THE LOGOS FOLDER) WILL BE LOST. When the /FileManager folder has been updated you then need to navigate into the servers /cgi-bin/FileManager folder. Once you have located the /cgi-bin/FileManager folder, return to you desktop (or wherever the unzipped update folder is stored) and navigate into the "FileManager" sub folder folder in the main "Contents to be uploaded into cgi-bin" directory. Then upload all files and folders located in this directory (not the folder itself) into the servers /cgi-bin/FileManager folder, overwriting any existing files and folders which have the same name. PLEASE NOTE, WHEN YOU OVERWRITE THE CONTENTS OF THE /CGI-BIN/FILEMANAGER FOLDER ANY SCRIPT CHANGES YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY MADE WILL BE LOST. If you are using a Linux server you may at this stage need to re-CHMOD the various ".pm" and ".pl" located in the /cgi-bin/FileManager folder to 0755 or 755 depending on the FTP client you are using. Windows Server users need to take no such action. Step 4 Locate the original "Configuration.pl" script in the /cgi-bin/FileManager/ and then open in a Perl or text editor. Once opened scroll to the bottom of this document and insert the following lines of code, exactly as shown below: logRecordPerPage "25" Then save and re-upload the Configuration.pl script. Step 5 Open a new browser window and visit: http://www.yoursite.com/cgi-bin/FileManager/TableUpdate1point5point00.pl (please modify this address accordingly). After the "TableUpdate1point5point00.pl" script has run successfully it should return the message: "Status: [COMPLETE]". Congratulations, your copy of iDC File Manager, has now been updated!
