Hi,

We have configured File manager and it works perfectly. Currently it is being access locally with address 172.16.1.xxx . We are using Windows 2003 Server.

Our external IP is 202.172.102.xxx, we have Nat the address to the local server via cisco router. But users from outside cannot access file manager. It just hangs.

I believe this is a DNS issue, but I dont know how to resolve it.

Your help is much appreciated.

Ken

Hi,

If your users access:

http://202.172.102.xxx/cgi-bin/FileManager/status.pl

from outside the network does this page hang as well or does it return "1" on screen.

I get this error from Internet Explorer:

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
There might be a typing error in the address.
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

After changing a few parameters in IIS, when accessing

http://202.172.102.xxx/cgi-bin/FileManager/status.pl

from outside, it returns "1"

Hi,

If you can now correctly access the status.pl script you should then be able to correctly access the Manager.pl script and use the File Manager as you were when accessed locally.

Still cannot access. It says waiting for http://202.172.102.xxx/cgi-bin/FileManager/manager.pl

Do you think it is a DNS server (windows 2003 server with AD) problem?
