I have been using the script and cannot seem to get the CHMOD feature to work. While it will change a folder to Read Only (0555) you can still upload into it without a problem just like you can with one that is still at 0777. It seems as though the CHMOD capability does not work at all if run under a windows environment. Is this true? Currently on 1.4 Version of the Script.

Hi Rhian,
CHMOD is a Linux based command and is not available on the Windows platform.

Please note - I'am just a simple user.
I don't know if our server is Lunux based or on a Windows platform. But I can alter CHMOD settings on all our folders and files. I don't think I'am an administrator to our files. Do I need our administrator to clarify this for us users?
I'am concerned, that changing CHMOD to "world acces" can make the files accesable for all on the internet.
For your information after searching I did find a user manual here. Perhaps this manual could be more easy to find:
http://www.filemanager.net/iDC-File-Manager-Manual.pdf
But the information on chmod is not understandable for a user like me...
Yours Sincerely
Gymnast

Hi Gymnast
Certain companies require the CHMOD function to be available because of their intended usage or the File Manager, i.e they use it to manage scripts etc... which require CHMOD permissions setting. However if you do not feel you have a need to use the CHMOD function ensure that you disable it for all user accounts via the Client Manager.
The manual "http://www.filemanager.net/iDC-File-Manager-Manual.pdf" is not promoted throughout the site as it applies largely to the version 1.4 File Manager and not version 1.5.
If you have any further questions or require any additional assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.
